Stone and granite in particular is an excellent if somewhat expensive choice for countertops. Granite is an outstanding choice because maintenance is simple, and consists of a little more than wiping with a damp cloth and drying with a towel to prevent water spots. Use a mixture of mild dishwasher and warm water to clean stone countertops. Make sure that you don’t use lemon, vinegar or other acids and use a cloth or paper towel to clean the countertop.
Marble offers you pleasing looks, although it is on the expensive side. Plus maintenance can be a chore. A sturdier alternative is quartz. Twice as strong as granite, your quartz countertops are resistant to stains, more durable and need very little maintenance or resealing of any sort. Certain varieties of quartz come with sparkling accents that offer a chic look for your kitchen.
Soapstone is non porous which means that leaks and spills on your countertops will remain on the surface and not penetrate deep down onto the material. For best results, apply a coating of mineral oil to soapstone to help protect it further from acid and stain attacks. It'd be 3 seperate pieces, 1 countertop is 4.5 ft by 2, the other is 7 ft by 2 and a breakfast bar which would be 5 by 2, could I get an estimate on granite?
